Well I think if you test positive then there is probably no way you can say it was the week before. It is positive or not.





There is a reason why a lot of companies reguire people to take a drug test at the hospital. That way they don't have to pay workmans comp, medical bills and they don't have to chip in if you claim unemployent. They can also keep insurance rates low by showing insurance companies that they have a policy of terminating people who test positive.





The tests do not always pick it up. If you did not smoke a whole lot or do so on a regular basis you might get lucky. Whether you get fired or not will depend on the company and your boss.





But if you test positive they have the legal right to send you on your way.
If you just smoked some weed a week before then its actually pretty likely that it is out of your system by then. Urine tests are not as intricate as a hair follicle test. if you fail a drug test after being injured at work, then they have the option to not pay any workmans comp and/or fire you.
