Can any one update me on the test case with the bank charges?

Unfortunately at the moment there isn't really anything to update you on, its all gone very quiet!





The test case has been scheduled in for the end of January 2008, and is expected to be a year before a final judgement is decided.





In the meantime, nothing is happening, its just a case of waiting now!





There have been some talks between the banks and the OFT but mostly in secret. The banks are trying to get out of being taken to court by agreeing to voluntarily drop their charges. Its down to the OFT to decide whether they are low enough to be fair, and whether to drop the test case.





Unfortunately, the OFT are a bit weak compared to the banks. With credit cards they agreed a ';fair charge'; was 拢12, which was better than 拢30, but still significantly higher than the 拢2 - 4 it actually costs them.





The best result for everyone would be for the test case to continue, although obviously its a long wait for everyone!





Keep an eye on my website below, as if anything significant does happen it will be on the site straight away. I was one of the first to break the news on the test case when it was announced :-)

what case is that? I claimed mine back and got 1500 quid, wayhay. I know one was lost but it didn't set a precedent.
